Charity donations made by MPs through PAYE

Under the Freedom of Information Act I would be most obliged if you could inform me:

  • How many MPs presently give to charity through the available Give As You Earn Scheme

I understand that MPs may be giving in alternate ways, but would like to know how many use this payroll giving scheme.

IPSA holds the information that you request.

There are currently nine Members of Parliament who make regular donations to charity via the ‘Give as you earn scheme’. As you say, there are, of course, many different ways of donating to charity and the information held by IPSA does not necessarily reflect the total number of MPs who donate to charity.
